Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. In 2001, she launched The Corcoran Group in New York City. She sold the business to NRT for $66 million. Shortly thereafter she resigned from the business. Corcoran, one of ABC's first Shark investors has been part of every episode of Shark Tank. She has been involved in 53 deals since February of 2020. The largest was a $350,000 investment to provide 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was second of the family of 10 children and was raised in Edgewater. Florence, her mother, was an excellent household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. became her father throughout Corcoran’s childhood. Her family often relied on free food delivery from a friendly local supermarket. Corcoran recalls that her father was an intoxicated man who would sometimes treat her mother with condescension and disrespect, especially after he had been drinking. Corcoran was a troubled student in school. Later, she discovered she was dyslexic. Corcoran was a student at an Catholic primary school within her area and began high school in St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. Corcoran was absent from several classes in her first year, and then transferred to Leonia High School where she was an A student.
